Better Project provides education and support through consultation and programmes underpinned by a psychological and therapeutic understanding, for individuals, communities, organisations and institutions.

Better Project has four main Circles of Support;

  • Child, Adolescent and Educational Psychology

  • Parenting and Family Support

  • Anti-Racism Programme and Consultation

  • Counselling

Each Circle of Better Project utilises our founders’ vast professional and lived experiences, to create a safe environment that encourages compassion, courage and growth.  This aligns with their firm belief that as humans we have a strong desire to be connected to others, but that in reality we exist in a complex world that impacts on our availability and ability to navigate and nurture connection. A Person-Centred therapeutic approach believes that we all have the ability to reach our potential if we are provided with the right conditions; this is central to Better Project’s ethos. The Better Project team are qualified to create safe spaces, with nurture and containment, which is imperative for education, self-reflection and growth. The skills, knowledge and authenticity at Better Project ensure a positive impact and promote meaningful collaborative change, whether it be for an individual, family, organisation or larger institution.

anti racism

Better Project recognise that in order to do this work we need to collaborate and support individuals and organisations to dismantle systemic inequalities that are evident in society and in our institutions. Through our work as psychologists, we see first-hand the damaging impact that racism has on the lives of Black and Brown people. There is a substantial body of evidence that highlights the structural inequalities that exist for Black and Brown children and young people in our education system which continue into adult life, both in the workplace and society at large. Better Project believe it is the responsibility of all organisations to make these environments a safe, equitable and Better place for all.

Anti-racism

counselling

Better Project provides an integrative counselling service based upon core therapeutic models of Humanistic and Psychodynamic theories.

Gareth, our resident Integrative Counsellor, uses an intersectional lens within his practice and is committed to providing an anti-oppressive therapeutic experience.

Counselling

psychology

Better Project are committed to improving the wellbeing and educational outcomes for all children and young people. We offer independent advice on the educational needs of children and young people. This involves providing assessment of the individual’s cognitive, social, emotional and mental health strengths and needs, and working in collaboration with the systems around the child, mostly home and school, to co-create support and intervention to ensure the individual’s needs are Better understood and met by all.

Psychology

Parenting and Family Support

Better Project acknowledge that children and young people exist within many different systems, but believe that the two most pivotal systems to their well-being are the home and school. Better Project takes a holistic systems approach to understanding the child and young person's behaviour and development, drawing on evidenced-based research and interventions to support both child and parent to be Better connected.
